At the end of the coffee cake recipe Sarah sent in, she recalled the silver dollar Grandmommy and Granddaddy sent to any granddaughter who baked her own coffee cake.

That reminded me that when one of the grandsons served his first Mass, he got a silver dollar as well. I remember writing my thank you note for my silver dollar and remarking to the grandparents that there must be an awful lot of silver dollars in Dallas.
